Vietnam Innovation Challenge is a program steered by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) and Meta Corporation.

The program is an annual activity within the framework of InnovateVN initiated by The National Innovation Center, Ministry of Planning and Investment, accompanied by partners who are leading technology corporations, in order to seek innovative solutions from domestic and international organizations/individuals to tackle key national challenges, working towards prosperous and sustainable development for Vietnam.

InnovateVN was initiated by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) with the coordination of public corporations, technology, and domestic and international partners with the following goals.

1. By 2030, Innovation contributes 40% to Vietnam's economic growth.

2. Support and develop 500 pioneering and innovative enterprises to lead the economy by 2030.

3. Enhance innovation capacity in the public sector at central and local agencies.

4. Develop a comprehensive innovation ecosystem in
Vietnam, an attractive destination for technology and
innovation investors with the presence and operation of
the world's 500 largest corporations.

Being the first program to realize InnovateVN's vision, the "Vietnam Innovation Challenge" is a program steered by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) and Meta Corporation. The program seeks innovative solutions from domestic and international organizations and individuals to tackle key national challenges, working towards prosperous and sustainable development for Vietnam.

Improve the management capability of small and medium-sized enterprises by applying new technologies and solutions;

Strengthen linkages between FDI enterprises, large enterprises and domestic SMEs

Promote and support Vietnamese SMEs to grow so that they can actively participate and move upstream in global value chains;

Strengthen and promote effective policy dialogue between the government and businesses.

Under the topic of 2023 "Innovation alongside digital transformation in businesses, participating in the global value chain," the Vietnam Innovation Award 2023 is the place to honor the 12 most outstanding solutions representing the 12 award categories, capable of strongly driving the business digital transformation process. Moreover, the ceremony will also announce the official topic of the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024, continuing to accompany Vietnamese businesses on their journey towards higher levels of transformation within the global value chain.

The Vietnam Innovation Award 2023 is attended by leaders from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, leaders of various ministries and departments, representatives from the Meta Group, representatives from large enterprises such as FPT, VNPT, THACO, CMC, etc, along with experts, innovation supporting organizations, and representatives from exemplary solutions.

The Vietnam Innovation Award 2023 honors the 12 excellent solutions representing three distinct categories: innovative major enterprises track, innovative small and medium-sized enterprises track, and project/ startup track.

Also at the event, the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 was officially launched by Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of the Ministry of Planning and Investment with the topic "Innovation to accelerate the semiconductor industry and smart manufacturing to go global" The program's goal for 2024 is to enhance the capabilities of businesses through innovation, allowing products from Vietnamese businesses to be exported more extensively, with higher value to high-standard markets.

The Vietnam Innovation Challenge encourages solutions with a holistic, sustainable, balanced approach in terms of social, business, and environmental development. The program recommends solution providers employ systems thinking, approaching issues from a big picture perspective that takes into account connections between different components, minimizing execution risks, thus paving the way for long-term, sustainable implementation.

The National Innovation Center (NIC) is an agency under the Ministry of
